I have experience tutoring students in Freshman Biology and in Freshman Chemistry via referrals from the UCBA Science Learning Lab. I am interested in tutoring because I hope to become a biology professor one day and I would like the opportunity to expand upon my teaching skills. I have taken the full introductory sequences in Biology and Chemistry, as well as upper-level biology electives and several courses in educational psychology and methodologies. I was awarded the UCBA Biology Department's Student of the Year award in 2012, worked with the Biology Department to establish and secure funding for an undergraduate research program, have presented original research at various symposiums (including the 2012 World Congress of Herpetology) and have won two consecutive Undergrad Research Fellowships.
